The Daily Nugget
The exciting part usually comes last.
Big breakout winners rarely look exciting the whole way up.
In fact, before the move starts, they can be downright boring.
A stock might spend days trading in a tight range.
It keeps bumping into the same price.
Pullbacks get smaller.
Volume dries up.
Nothing about it screams “monster winner.”
Which is exactly why most traders aren’t paying attention yet.
Then the stock finally clears that level…
And suddenly everybody notices.
That’s when the chart starts looking exciting.
But by then, the setup has already done a lot of the work.
The good news is you still don’t need to catch the absolute bottom.
A stock can spend weeks building a pattern, break out well above its lows, and still have a huge move ahead of it.
You’re not trying to own every dollar from bottom to top.
You’re trying to recognize the point where a quiet setup starts turning into something much bigger.
So don’t ignore a stock just because nothing dramatic is happening yet.
Sometimes the boring part is exactly what you want to see.
